Part one of my Italian adventures

So here I am, finally in Italy! I can hardly believe it. I landed in Florence Wednesday and was promptly meet by my parents. They had landed a few hours earlier and were already acquainted with the city. They took me to the hotel and we started the tour of town. We had tickets to go and see the David and it honestly blew my mind bit is one of those pieces that pictures just can't do justice. I will honestly say I now have a HUGE crush on David. He is really quite a guy. I am kinda over seeing his wee-we'd all over the place. I get it. I don't need to see it on a pair of boxers. Anyway, we then puttered around until dinner. This dinner was spectacular. We sat there going over the day just amazed food could taste this good. My mom and I shared the moment of I can't believe we are here. It was then, I kid you not a man started to play the guitar. I just looked at my mom and she began to cry out of happiness for me. Seeing her I obviously began to cry as well. My dad just looked at us like we had lost our minds.

The next day we headed down to the ufizzi. It is there where bottocelli's birth of Venus and spring live. They were amazing!

What touched me most about my time with my patents was a conversation with my dad. As I mentioned before his mother traveled her whole life. I actually learned this trip she was so dedicated to it she actually went and moved to Paris by herself at 20. What was so touching to me was that my father said he saw a spark of her in me. As grandmother and granddaughter we really didn't have much bonding time. She barely knew who I was. (like my essence not just my face) so for him to tell me I am like her means a lot to me. She was a tough women who lived through a lot but also experienced a lot as well. In a way it is her life that I would love to emulate. She got to experience so much I could hardly believe she lived only one life. I want to have that and for me that is what this year long project is about.
